Travel begins before the camera. It begins with time — learning to read a place slowly, building real relationships with the people inside it, waiting for something true to surface on its own. Working mostly across Asia and in contexts far from the constructed routes, these photographs are not simply travel images. They are the residue of encounters, of human situations, of places that demanded presence before they offered themselves to the lens. Less travel photography, perhaps — more a form of quiet, persistent curiosity about the world and the people who inhabit it.
